Nissan altima mass air flow sensor symptoms
Purpose The Mass Air Flow sensor is used to measure (actually weight) the amount of air entering the engine. I've labeled the wires with the numbers 1 thru' 4 to help you identify them and to describe what each one does: Number 1 : Battery Power (12 Volts). Circuit Descriptions of the Nissan MAF Sensor Connector The mass air flow sensor's connector, on your Nissan Pathfinder, has slots for 5 wires but only has 4 wires attached to it (with one slot being empty). Absolutely right, but let me just clarify something for everyone. Bad or contaminated NISSAN Altima Mass Air Flow sensor can possibly cause a wide range of various vehicle drivability problems such as stalling, especially when the engine is cold, misfiring, poor acceleration, etc.
NISSAN Altima Mass Air Flow Sensor
R.Lee If ya have a 00-01, ya could gotten the MAF from most Nissan dealerships for about 90 to 100 and done it yourself in under an hour. Independent of the method you use, be careful not to damage the wire(s). Install the air-intake assembly, plug in the sensor electrical connector and install the sensor mounting screws. Cleaning The MAF is mounted to the vehicles air cleaner box and connected to the computer with a wiring harness. Article Id: 390 The MAF (mass air flow) sensor on your 3.5L Nissan Pathfinder (2001-2003) can be easily tested with a multimeter.
TCS and Service lights turned off after the part was put in. Description The Air Flow Sensor or Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) is one of the components of an electronic fuel injection system and is found in many of modern vehicles. Spraying these wires clean with MAF cleaner or electrical contact cleaner and leaving the MAF to air dry is the best approach to cleaning this sensitive instrument.
Failed Mass Air Flow Sensor May Cause
At least not that I know of. Spray the MAF sensor wires or grid (sensing elements) with electrical component cleaner or MAF sensor cleaner. Common Symptoms of a BAD Nissan MAF Sensor. Why would you change the housing, can something go wrong with it?

These leaks can cause similar symptoms as a malfunctioning mass air flow sensor. It could take the computer over 40 engine-starting cycles to clean this trouble code. I also have the service manual and in the book it explains how to measure the voltage to expect on the MAFS connection.
